In this two day workshop, kids will learn how to properly use a digital SLR camera in all modes, and take effective, unique pictures. On the first day, basic use of the cameras will be taught, followed by a scavenger hunt photo shoot downtown. Upon returning to the Center, students will learn how to upload their photos, and will begin to learn the basics of Photoshop Elements and Picnik.com. On day two, basic elements of composition and lighting will be discussed in a fun environment. Depending on the weather, the kids will have to do a photo shoot at an outdoor location, or they will learn how to use the studio and lighting equipment to take portraits of each other. The kids will also have time in the digital darkroom(computer lab) on Day 2. Each student will pick out their favorite image to have printed as a 5x7, included in the camp fee. Please note, we will do our best to have the print ready by the time the kids leave, but depending on time constraints, the print may have to be picked up at a later time.
