Nature of the Lowcountry Workshop
with Kenny McKeithan
A three day photography workshop with instructor Kenny McKeithan photographing
in and around the South Carolina Lowcountry March 17-20 or September 29 - October 2

In addition to hundreds of years of history, Charleston S.C. also offers an abundance of beautiful natural areas to photograph. We will spend Three days visiting some of Charleston's most beautiful and picturesque locations including The Audubon Swamp Garden at Magnolia Plantation, The Francis Beidler Forest, Morris Island Lighthouse and more. Shooting will include sunrise/sunsets, gardens, landscapes and wildlife. This workshop will start on Wednesday night to discuss shooting technique and what we’ll see and lay out our itinerary. This will allow us to start shooting at first light Thursday morning. We’ll shoot all day Friday and Saturday and have

review and critique sessions after each day’s shooting.

Places we’ll visit: Magnolia Gardens/Audubon Swamp Garden, Cypress Gardens, Francis Biedler Forest, local beaches and oceanfront, and Morris Island Lighthouse.

What we’ll learn: Techniques for capturing dramatic coastal landscapes, macro techniques for shooting flowers, effective use of filters and more.

Prerequisites: Students should possess a working knowledge of their cameras and should know how to select and set aperture and shutter speed. Having completed a basic photography course would be ideal.
