Macro Photography Workshop
with Kenny McKeithan

This two part workshop will cover most aspects of macro photography. The classroom session will cover lens and equipment selection. We’ll cover three different ways to shoot macro and the pros and cons of each. Students will also learn about composition, exposure and more.

After the lunch break we’ll head out to an outdoor location loaded with macro possibilities where the techniques we learned in the classroom will be demonstrated in the field.

Prerequisites: Students should possess a working knowledge of their cameras and should know how to select and set aperture and shutter speed. Having completed a basic photography course would be ideal.
Equipment:
A 35mm or digital slr camera with interchangeable lenses. Please bring your camera and lenses along with your owner’s manual if available. Please note that it is not necessary to have or purchase a macro lens for this class. If you are contemplating the purchase of a macro lens it may be of some benefit to take the class first in order to become familiar with the range of equipment available and the differences between them.
Suggestions: A good quality sturdy tripod. A cable release.
