Fine Art of the Long Exposure
with Gabriel Biderman

The late great Magnum photographer Henri Cartier Bresson coined the term Seizing The Moment with his iconoclastic street photography shots. Bresson would capture the perfect 1/50th of a second in which to capture the image. But what happens when you want to capture more time than a fraction of a second?

I
n this 2-day workshop we will look beyond these fleeting moments of time and explore the images that can be created when you expose for seconds, minutes, and even hours with your camera. Gabriel Biderman is a self-taught photographer who has been capturing the moments of time with everything from pinhole to the latest digital cameras. He will go into detail on how to meter and process your long exposures using either film or digital capture.  This hands on workshop will include lecture time, studio shooting, and a night shoot.  Gabriel will teach you how to master light painting, star trails, and create ghosts during the day and night. And most importantly, how capture the unseen beauty and creative possibilities that lay between 8 seconds and 8 hours of exposure.

Gabriel's images have been featured in exhibits worldwide and published in print and on the web.  He was honored to be featured in Eric Renner's Pinhole Photography - Rediscovering the Historic Technique.

For the past two years, Gabriel has been giving seminars on the Fine Art of the Long Exposure and leading workshops on Pinhole and Night Photography.
