Exploring the ACE Basin Workshop
with Kenny McKeithan
A three day photography workshop photographing the nature and wonders of the ACE Basin

The Ashepoo, Combahee and South Edisto (ACE) river Basin represents one of the largest undeveloped estuaries on the east coast of the United States. The ACE Basin consists of approximately 350,000 acres of diverse habitats including pine and hardwood uplands, forested wetlands, fresh, brackish and salt water tidal marshes, barrier islands and beaches. We’ll visit and photograph Donnelley Wildlife Management Area (WMA), an 8048 acre reserve, Dungannon Heritage Preserve, the 643 acre site of a former rice plantation, and the ACE Basin National Wildlife Refuge, 11,815 acres surrounding the former Grove Plantation, one of only three antebellum mansions in the ACE Basin to survive the Civil War. This workshop will start on Wednesday night to discuss shooting technique and what we’ll see and lay out our itinerary. This will allow us to start shooting at first light Thursday morning. We’ll shoot Friday and Saturday Mornings and have review and critique sessions each afternoon.
