Tim Zielenbach

From South Africa to Savannah: One Photographer's Journey
During fourteen years as a photojournalist, Tim Zielenbach served on newspaper staffs as large as the Chicago Tribune, and as small as the Marshall News Messenger, a 7000 circulation daily in East Texas. He was a contract photographer for the New York Times' Johannesburg bureau, and was represented by Contact Press Images. During five years based in South Africa, Tim’s work from Somalia and Zaire was nominated for Pulitzer Prizes, and his coverage from Jordan and Sudan received recognition from the World Press Photo Foundation.
Since moving to Savannah in 2004, Tim has changed his focus to documenting family histories, working with couples and families throughout the Southeast. His clients commission him for his ability to tell stories of their lives through the moments they share.
His work can be viewed at Zielenbach.com and TZKids.com
