Julia Lynn

Julia Lynn became interested in photography as a teenager while looking at countless fashion magazines during long car rides on family vacations. This led to courses in photography and art history where she discovered the work of photographers such as Dorothea Lange and Walker Evans.

While working at an ad agency, Julia decided to pursue her love of photography full time, concentrating on commercial work. She enrolled in photography school and discovered the joys of photographing people and, of recording her ideas on film. Julia's photographs reflect her love of the outdoors, storytelling, and the fun of meeting new people. Her portfolio blends conceptual portraits, location photography, and documentary work. She is particularly drawn to the vibrant characters and historic architecture of her native South.

Originally from Roanake, Virginia, Julia studied at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, and at The Portfolio Center in Atlanta. She currently resides in Charleston working in the editorial, advertising and corporate markets.
