Sports Photography | 6 weeks


Sports photography is mainly used for newspapers, wire services and dedicated sports magazines. But, that doesn’t mean you can’t become a pro too. For photographers who absolutely love sports and photography, this course is for you. During the six-week class, you will learn about fast shutter speeds, subject isolation, stop action, telephoto lenses and more. You will discuss techniques on gaining sideline access and proper sports photography etiquette.Students will learn how to photograph outdoors with or without stadium lights and indoors under stadium light, when to re-set ISO sensitivity. By the end of the class, you will be comfortable on any court or field.

Prerequisite: Introduction to digital photography or equivalent
Requirements: Knowledge of how your camera works, the ability to set manual and automatic exposures by using a camera or hand-held meter, and basic compositional skills.

Equipment: Digital SLR camera, lenses and mono-pod or tri-pod
