Sports Photography | 6 weeks

“Honey, I photo’d the kids” Sports Photography

This course is for the digital photographer, who wants to get “the shot” at hockey, soccer, baseball, basketball and other school sports events, and youth action photography. Have you ever missed that shot? Students will learn how to photograph outdoors with or without stadium lights and indoors under stadium light, when to re-set ISO sensitivity; how to freeze or blur the action. Students will also learn to look for that dramatic photo through pre-visualization, anticipation and timing. the approach of this class is to get you ready for "the shot" the game winner! Preferable equipment choices will be discussed.


Prerequisite: Introduction to digital photography or equivalent
Requirements: Knowledge of how your camera works, the ability to set manual and automatic exposures by using a camera or hand-held meter, and basic compositional skills.
Who Should Attend: Level Two
Equipment: Digital SLR camera.
